Alix Bryan will have drawn the world’s largest peace sign across the United States when she completes her 20,000+ mile journey in Washington D.C. on August 8th. Travelling alone for the most part, she traced the inner 11,000 miles in 2007 and the 9,000 mile perimeter in 2008 in a 182-day quest to find out how the American people define peace and how they would teach it to their children.
On a Buddy125 donated by Genuine Scooters, Alix set a goal of raising one dollar for every mile traveled. “The P.E.A.C.E Scooter is many things:”  Alix posts on her blog at peacescooter.com. “An art project, a demonstration, an endurance test, a documentary (hopefully), a fundraiser. Simply, it is a way to promote peace with every mile. We need to know what peace is if we are ever to achieve it.”
On Saturday, August 9, the official end of the tour reception will be held at Scoot Richmond to celebrate Alix’s safe return and the completion of her journey. There will be food (vegan and not-so-vegan), beer and beverages, music, speeches and lots and lots of scooters. Come chat with Alix as she recounts highlights from her travels. Admission is free but bring a couple of dollars to donate to charity if you are so inclined.

Wow, Alix! Can’t believe you took a scoot through some of the more mountainous areas like Montana! That’s awesome. You have my sympathy for the trek through Texas. That’s a long, boring, whole-lot-of-nothing-land, part of your trip. Done that drive but not on two wheels!
