Like playing with explosives but don’t want to chance blowing off both your hands?

Electronic Arts and Pandemic give you the chance to live out your fiery fantasies safely in Mercenaries 2: World in Flames, a video game porno for pyros.  The game’s subtitle is appropriate because you’ll cause dozens of explosions during the guerilla missions you undertake on behalf of foreign governments.

The first Mercenaries game raised a few eyebrows when it sent players into controversial locales such as North and South Korea, but the newest installment won’t ruffle many feathers this time since the action is set in the lush jungles of tropical Venezuela.  The game play really hasn’t changed much, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing since you can take on missions at your own pace.

In addition to the many guns at your disposal, you can steal any vehicle you find from boats to helicopters to motorcycles, giving you the freedom to decide how to take down targets.  Jacking vehicles, however, requires a pattern of button presses now, making it more tedious to do so this time around.

As before, you can call your HQ for weapons drops when you get low on ammo and health and for air strikes when you need to destroy every enemy in a certain radius.
There isn’t much character development, but one of the mercs, Mattias, has a mohawk so how much more do you really need to know?  Mercenaries 2: World in Flames is available for the PlayStation 3and Xbox 360 for $59.99 and PlayStation 2 for $39.99 MSRP.
